Poor judgment, even worse timing. An Ironton man and an Ashland, Ky., juvenile were arrested Saturday and charged with robbing the Movie Gallery at the Ironton Hills Shopping Center.
Terry Rice, 20, was charged with complicity to theft and was ordered to appear in Ironton Municipal Court. The 15 year-old boy boy was charged with theft and released to the custody of his parents.
Ironton Police detective, Capt. Chris Bowman the two juvenile allegedly took several DVD's movies and video games, while the adult allegedly held the entrance door open for the juvenile to escape without having to go through the metal detector at the exit door.
Store employees phone police and advised the two left the shopping center in a small red car with Kentucky tags. Ironton police patrolman Jim Akers spotted the car only a minute later and pulled it over at the corner of Sixth Street and Park Avenue.
"We're fortunate for the quick response of our officers," Bowman said.
The items taken, valued at $376, was returned to the store.
