An Ironton man was arrested Thursday and charged in connection with two burglaries that occurred last month. Two juvenile may face charges in connection with these incidents as well.
Lawrence County Sheriff Tim Sexton has identified the suspect as Lowell F. Ratliff, 21, of 1486 Porter Gap Road. Sexton said a 14-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy may also have been involved in the home break-ins. Complaints will be filed through the Lawrence County Prosecutor's Office for these two teens.
"The suspects allegedly gained entry into the two residences by kicking open a door," Sexton said in a prepared statement. "Some items that were taken during the burglary were a firearm, video games, collector's knife and prescription medication."
Sexton encouraged individuals to report unusual activity they may observe in their neighborhoods, such as strange or unfamiliar automobiles or individuals.
"Some burglars may drop an accomplice off and slowly cruise the neighborhood waiting to pick up the subject with the stolen goods," Sexton said.
Those who observe suspicious activity should try to obtain an accurate description of the vehicle's exterior, license plate number and last known direction of travel.
