PEDRO -- The Fairland Dragons are starting to find their stroke.

The Dragons had double figure hits and scoring for the second straight game as they downed the Rock Hill Redmen 13-5 Wednesday in an Ohio Valley Conference game.

Fairland banged out 14 hits including home runs by Cory McKnight and Adam Fuller. Michael Hill went 3-for-4 with a pair of runs batted in, Fuller was 4-4, and Josh Moore 3-5.

"When we put the ball in play we can score some runs," Fairland coach Roger Snyder said.

The offensive outburst backed the pitching of Matt Clark and McKnight. Clark went four-plus innings to get the win as he struck out eight and walked three. McKnight finished up, striking out three, walking none and allowing three hits.

"Matt could have gone longer. We didn't play well defensively behind him. McKnight looked sharp when he came in," Snyder said.

Nathan Litteral went 2-2 with a double to lead Rock Hill's seven-hit attack. K. C. Christian was 2-4.

Rock Hill went in front 2-0 in the first inning. Litteral doubled and went to third on an error. Aaron Miller doubled home Litteral, moved up on a ground out and scored on an error.

Fairland came storming back with seven runs in the second inning.

The Dragons loaded the bases and then scored when Fuller had a bunt single, McKnight walked, Matt Clark was hit by a pitch, and Hill had a two-run single.

McKnight had a two-run homer in the fifth to make it 10-5, and Fuller slammed a two-run shot in a three-run sixth that extended the lead to 13-5.

Fairland (6-1, 2-1 OVC) plays Raceland at 8 p.m. Friday in the Ashland Tournament. The Dragons play Coal Grove at 10 a.m. Saturday and Ashland at noon.

Rock Hill (2-5, 0-3 OVC) travels to Whiteoak Saturday for a doubleheader.
