Get ready for a busy week.
It's high school postseason time for spring sports and fans will get treated to an event each day.
The Division III district track meet has been split with the girls going to Chillicothe on Monday and the boys heading to Fairland High School on Tuesday. Chesapeake and Green are the only local schools effected by the split decision.
Weather permitting, the Fairland Dragons will play Unioto in the Division III district baseball semifinals at the University of Rio Grande. More rain could postpone the game to Tuesday or Wednesday, and the site might change depending on the condition of the Rio Grande field.
The heavy rains have caused the field to flood due to a creek that runs adjacent to the left field line.
The district finals are scheduled for Thursday.
More track meets are set for Wednesday as the Division II district meet will be held at Fairland.
The boys and girls district finals will be held on Friday and the Division II district finals will be held on Saturday.
The Ironton Fighting Tigers have already won their semifinal district baseball game, so they play in the district finals at 5 p.m. Thursday at McDermott Northwest High School.
Ironton is waiting for an opponent. Minford and Lucasville Valley were rained out Saturday and will play Monday, weather permitting.
The Green Bobcats meet North Adams Monday at 5 p.m. at Lucasville in the Division IV district semifinals.
In softball, the Fairland Lady Dragons face Portsmouth West at 5 p.m. Monday at Minford in Division III. The Symmes Valley Lady Vikings play for the district title at 5 p.m. Wednesday against Reedsville Eastern at Minford.
