A Lawrence County jury earlier this week returned a guilty verdict in the trial of a South Point man accused of felonious assault.

Samuel Clark was accused of suddenly punching John Morrison, of Ashland, Ky. during an incident at the Comfort Inn in South Point June 30, 2002. Morrison suffered a broken jaw. Lawrence County Prosecutor J.B. Collier Jr., said Clark struck Morrison after he discovered Morrison talking to his cousin.

Clark will be sentenced July 16 by Lawrence County Common Pleas Judge Richard Walton.
