A Portsmouth man accused of taking his infant daughter from a residence in Ironton last week will be arraigned today in Ironton Municipal Court.
James Michael Pack, 27, turned himself in to Ironton Police Monday evening. He had been charged with kidnapping eight-month-old Alexandra Pack.
Ironton Police Department Capt. Dan Johnson said the whereabouts of the child are still unknown.
"He (Pack) contacted the person who had the child and that person was supposed to have brought the child here," Johnson said Wednesday evening. "That person did not do so. The child's name has been entered into the NCIC (National Crime Information Center) computer as a missing child."
Valorie Virgin, the mother of Alexandra Pack, told police last week that James Pack had come to the residence where she was staying and took the child without her permission. Virgin said she has full custody of the child.
Pack remains in the Lawrence County Jail.
