Just like the Jeffersons, the Ironton Fighting Tigers are movin' on up.
The Ironton Fighting Tigers opened the Associated Press Division IV football poll tied for seventh last week. But after several higher ranked teams lost this past weekend, Ironton has jumped to fourth.
Coldwater continues to lead with 364 points and 28 first-place votes. Coshocton vaulted to second with 290 points, Versailles climbed to third with 256 points and Ironton is just 15 points back in fourth place.
Youngstown Mooney fell from second to fifth after a 21-19 loss to Warren Harding, which is ranked fourth in Division I.
Rounding out the top 10 were Clinton-Massie, Delta, Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary's, Bellaire and Upper Sandusky.
The only other area teams receiving 12 or more points were No. 18 Athens (23 points) and No. 24 Gallipolis (14 points) in Division III.
Other leaders include Cleveland St. Ignatius in Division I, Macedonia Nordonia in Division III, Cleveland Benedictine in Division III, Delphos St. John's in Division V, and Dola Hardin Northern in Division VI.
