A Scioto County man wanted in connection with the Nov. 7 robbery and stabbing of an 82-year-old Wheelersburg man was arrested in Ironton Sunday.
William D. Mollett Jr., 21, of Haverhill, was taken into custody while he was at Wendy's restaurant on Fourth and Center streets. Mollett is charged in Scioto County with aggravated robbery, but Scioto County Sheriff's detective Jodi Conkel said additional charges could be filed later against both men involved in the robbery and stabbing.
The arrest occurred at approximately 2:30 p.m. Sunday.
He was incarcerated first in the Lawrence County Jail, but was later transferred to the Scioto County Jail.
Officers from the Hanging Rock Police Department, Lawrence County Sheriff's Office and Ironton Police Department were involved in Mollett's arrest.
Local authorities said Mollett was arrested without incident.
Conkel said a second man wanted in connection with the incident, Mollet's cousin, Danny Mollet, 28, also of Haverhill, turned himself in to authorities shortly after the incident occurred.
The victim remains in serious condition at Grant Hospital in Columbus.
