Man accused of rape arraigned

An Ironton man arrested over the weekend on rape and aggravated burglary charges was arraigned Tuesday in Ironton Municipal Court. Judge O. Clark Collins set bond at a total of $100,000 for Robert B. Williams, 23, of 2631 S. Sixth St. Williams will appear in court Thursday for a preliminary hearing in the case.
Williams was arrested Saturday morning after officers received a call a from a woman who said a man broke into her residence overnight and held her against her will. The woman said she had managed to escape her residence and call for help.
Williams remains in the Lawrence County Jail.
