Grand jury returns 19 indictments

Drug crimes and sexual crimes against children dominated the indictments returned late last week by a Lawrence County grand jury.
Lawrence County Prosecutor J.B. Collier Jr., said the grand jury met two days last week and returned indictments against 19 people. Seven indictments were secret, most of them drug-related.
€ Daniel Carlisle, 27, 726 S. Ninth St., trafficking in crack cocaine, a third-degree felony.
€ Aaron Wiley, 19, 136 Elizabeth St., Proctorville, breaking and entering and vandalism, both fifth-degree felonies.
€ Christina Michelle Edwards, 20, 311 Lorain St., Ironton, four counts of
third-degree trafficking in crack cocaine, one count of fourth-degree felony trafficking in crack cocaine, one count of
third-degree felony complicity to trafficking in crack cocaine,
one count of
third-degree felony possession of crack cocaine,
one count of second-degree felony trafficking in crack cocaine and one count of fifth-degree felony possession of criminal tools.

311 Lorain St., Ironton, four counts of third-degree felony complicity to trafficking in crack cocaine, one count of fourth-degree felony trafficking in crack cocaine,
one count of second-degree felony trafficking in crack cocaine, one count of fifth-degree felony possession of criminal tools, one count of third degree felony possession of crack and one count of second degree misdemeanor resisting arrest.

Greenup, Ky., one count of third degree felony possession of crack cocaine, one count of fifth-degree felony possession of crack cocaine, one count of second-degree felony trafficking in crack cocaine, two counts of third-degree felony complicity to trafficking in crack cocaine and one count of fourth degree felony complicity to trafficking in crack cocaine.
€ William J. Fyffe, 21, 190 Pigeon Hollow Road, six counts of first-degree rape involving two children under the age of 13.
€ Tommy S. Mattox, 48,
501 Pike St., Coal Grove, two counts of gross sexual imposition involving two girls under the age of 13.
€ Christopher G. Akers, 35, of 515 Private Drive, Ellisonville Paddle Creek Road, Pedro, two counts of second-degree felonious assault and two counts of first-degree misdemeanor aggravated menacing.
€ William R. Davis,
31, 722 Old State Route 522, Pedro, gross sexual imposition of a girl under the age of 13.
€ Christopher J. Wolfe, 18, 312 S. Eighth St., Ironton, fourth-degree felony unlawful sexual conduct with a girl under the age of 16.
€ Roger Newcomb, 157 Little Pine Creek Road, Pedro,
fourth degree felony receiving stolen property.
vPatricia C. Davis, 41, 1563 N. Second St., Ironton, one count of felonious assault.
An indictment, by definition, is the formal written accusation of a crime which is affirmed by a grand jury and presented to a court to begin criminal proceedings against the accused. It does not establish guilt or innocence.
