WATERLOO - A vacant house and garage were reduced to a pile of ashes Sunday afternoon.
The State Fire Marshal's office is now investigating the blaze.
Aid Township Assistant Fire Chief Ron Justice said firefighters received the call between 3:30 and 4:30 p.m.
"We were called to a brush fire," Justice said. "Then, we found out it was a structure fire.
"It was pretty much on the ground by the time we got there. We just extinguished what was left burning."
Aid Township requested assistance from the Decatur Township and Rio Grande fire departments.
