Ironton man arraigned on rape charges

An Ironton man was arraigned Thursday in Ironton Municipal Court on a rape charge stemming from an incident involving an 8-year-old girl.

Ironton Municipal Court Judge O. Clark Collins set bond at $100,000 for Christopher Luke Prince, 27. He remains in jail in Ross County.

Prince will return to municipal court

April 29 for a preliminary hearing.

Prince was arrested after the mother of the child told authorities that Prince allegedly had sexual conduct with her daughter.

Prince was employed by the city as dog warden on an as-needed basis in October 2003. He was also employed as a Hanging Rock police officer from June 2000 until March 2003 and as a Coal Grove police officer prior to that.
