PROCTORVILLE-

Traffic changes will go into effect this week on State Route 7 in Lawrence County as the next phase of work for the widening project in Rome Township gets under way.

Today, contractors for the Ohio Department of Transportation will switch two-way traffic to temporary pavement between the Judge Ater Bridge at Paddy Creek and State Route 243 for the installation and construction of a storm sewer system.

Beginning at 5:30 a.m., crews from TAB Construction will impart the traffic changes that will continue until approximately 3:30 p.m. each day, with traffic being returned to regular patterns each evening. The operation will occur daily during these hours, and this phase of the project is anticipated to continue through the month of June and early July.

In addition to this traffic change, the left-turn lane from eastbound State Route 7 to State Route 243 will be eliminated each day crews are working within the project zone. Although motorists will still be permitted to turn left at the intersection, they are advised of periods of delay, especially during peak travel times.
