Local authorities are looking for an Ironton man after he was reported missing last week.
Jeffrey Shuff, 27, of 225 Township Road 1185, was last seen Aug. 4.
According to a report filed Tuesday with the Lawrence County Sheriff's Office, Jackie Jenkins, Shuff's mother, told deputies her son had been depressed about breaking up with his girlfriend and about having a reduction in his hours at work.
According to the report, Shuff allegedly told his mother she might not ever hear from him again.
Jenkins told deputies she had not seen or heard from her son since Tuesday, Aug. 3 when she passed him on the road on State Route 141. At that time he was driving her black Honda Accord. Jenkins said friends thought they had seen him in Huntington, W.Va., the following day.
Shuff is described as 5 feet, 10 inches tall, 210 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes. He has a tattoo of a sun on one shoulder and a grateful dead head tattoo on one ankle. He was last seen wearing a yellow polo shirt.
Anyone with information about Shuff is asked to call the sheriff's office at 532-3525.
