said the 77 tons of recyclable materials have been taken at the agency's permanent and rotating solid waste collection trailers thus far this year. That is considerably higher than last year's total of 60 tons.

"Our goal is 110-120 tons by the end of the year," Yaniko said. "Most of our recyclables is still going to landfills, especially aluminum cans and some are still ending up alongside the road. We'd like to see all of this end up in our yellow trailers."

Lawrence Countians may bring unwanted newspapers, magazines plastic and aluminum cans to any of the trailers. All items must be clean.

Lawrence County's permanent trailer site is at the Lawrence County Municipal Court in Chesapeake. The rotating trailer is at Forth's Foodfair in Proctorville the first week of the month, Lowe's in Burlington the second week of the month, Coal Grove Village Hall the third week of the month and the old Foodland lot in Ironton the fourth week of the month.

Scioto County has four permanent trailers and one rotating trailer.

The drop-pff sites are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week and are monitored to avoid illegal dumping. Only the items listed above will be accepted at the trailers.
