Perry Township man injured in collision

FAYETTE TOWNSHIP- A Perry Township man was listed in fair condition Tuesday after a truck-dune buggy collision in Fayette Township Monday evening.

Timothy Daniels, 45, of 3020 State Route 243, was taken by Healthnet helicopter from the scene on County Road 55.

Ohio State Highway Patrol dispatcher Chad Adkins said the accident happened at 8:15 p.m. when the Volkswagen railbuggy Daniels was operating collided with a Chevrolet S-10 operated by Arthur Boyer, 70, of Ironton.

Boyer was cited for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence, his second offense in the last six years and his fifth lifetime offense. He was also cited for driving left of center and failing to yield half of the roadway.

Adkins said Daniels will likely also be charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence.
