A man wearing a Halloween mask tried to hold up Staley's Pharmacy on South Ninth Street Saturday, but left after apparently being laughed at.

"A man came in wearing a Halloween mask with skeleton bones on it, had an object in his hand and demanded money," Ironton police detective Jim Akers said. "The guy at the store thought he was kidding and questioned him and he (the attempted robber) took off."

The suspect did not receive any mmoney. Akers said the incident is under investigation.

The incident happened 5:25 p.m. No one was injured in the incident.
