Kent State, Cribbs rout Ohio, 42-16

KENT, Ohio (AP) - Joshua Cribbs rushed for 223 yards and two touchdowns and passed for 150 yards and another score to lead Kent State to a 42-16 win over Ohio on Saturday.

Cribbs scored on runs of 58 and 9 yards in 20 carries, and was 18-for-26 passing for 150 yards with a 35-yard touchdown to Najah Pruden. He didn't throw an interception and also averaged 47 yards on two punts.

David Alston added two rushing touchdowns in the first half to help the Golden Flashes (2-6, 1-4 Mid-American Conference) take a 28-10 lead.

The Bobcats (3-6, 1-5) managed only 129 yards rushing on 39 carries and saw both of their quarterbacks struggle. Ryan Hawk was sacked five times and finished 11-of-16 for 97 yards with an interception, while Austen Everson was 4-of-12 for 121 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions.

Everson scored on a 2-yard run in the second quarter to pull Ohio within 14-10 after Cribbs' touchdown pass to Pruden and Alston's 8-yard TD run gave Kent State a 14-3 lead.

Rasheed McClaude then scored on a 1-yard run and Alston added a 3-yard TD run to give the Golden Flashes their 18-point lead at the half.

Cribbs ran for a score in the third and fourth quarters for Kent State.

Everson threw a 49-yard touchdown pass to Justin Roush in the third for Ohio.
