BEAVER — Live by the 3s, die by the 3s.

Green made 11 3-point goals, but it was two treys by Beaver Eastern in overtime that beat the Bobcats 78-76 Friday night in overtime.

"Last week we only scored 34 points and (Friday night) we score 76 points. It was two different styles," Green coach Kevin Sheridan said. "We got some open looks and hit some 3s, but the disappointing thing to me was allowing 78 points. We got caught up in the offensive end of the game and didn't play defense like we're capable."

Jason Bester hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer in regulation to tie the game at 67-67 and send it into overtime.

But Zach Alexander hit a pair of 3-pointers and scored 8 of Eastern's 11 points in overtime to beat the Bobcats.

Green was 11 of 27 from behind the 3-point line. Brian Ramey made five 3-point goals including three in the first quarter as he scored 11 points to put Green up 16-12.

But Eastern got 26 points in the second quarter to take a 42-32 halftime lead.

"We got some open looks and hit some 3s the first quarter, but in the second quarter we kind of went numb," Sheridan said.

Derek Lewis, Nathan Patten and Ramey all had 3-pointers in the third quarter as Green cut the deficit by one point at 59-50. Adam Sparks scored 9 points in the fourth quarter as Green outscored Eastern 17-12 to tie the game and send it into overtime.

"We had our chances in overtime and didn't take advantage of them," Sheridan said.

Ramey led four Bobcats in double figures with 23 points and also grabbed nine rebounds to go with five steals. Sparks had 15 points, Patten 13 and John Dawson 10.

Lewis handed out eight assists and pulled down seven rebounds while Bester passed out seven assists.

Green is now 3-3 overall and 1-2 in the Southern Ohio Conference.
