Have you ever wondered how to sell your cars or bakery products or even your electrical gismos to the Wayne National Forest?
A seminar later this month may answer your questions. A small business workshop to discuss how to do business with the Wayne National Forest is scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 26 at Ohio University Southern.
The seminar is designed to familiarize small business owners with issues regarding business transactions with the U.S. Department of Agriculture, specifically with the U.S. Forest Service and the Wayne National Forest.
The event is sponsored by the Lawrence Economic Development Corporation Center for Procurement Outreach, Ohio University Southern's Center for Development, Ohio State University South Centers Small Business Development Centers, Ohio Valley Minority Business Association and the Ohio Valley Regional Development Commission.
"We need your enthusiasm, your questions and your participation," said Kelly Lawhorn, with the LEDC's Procurement Outreach Center.
The workshop will include information about business opportunities with the forest service, what types of products and services the WNF buys,
how to negotiate a contract and what are the registration requirements for new vendors.
The seminar is aimed at construction companies, engineering firms, landscapers. electrical distributors, farmers and maintenance and janitorial services workers.
"This won't just open up doors to doing business with the Wayne National Forest, but the whole U.S. Forest Service," said Gloria Chrismer, district ranger for the WNF.
The seminar will be from 8:30 a.m. to noon in the Ohio Room at OUS.
