First quarter start gives Redmen win over Oaks

OAK HILL - Great starts lead to good things.

The Rock Hill Redmen roared to a big first quarter lead and rolled past the Oak Hill Oaks 70-35 Tuesday in a non-league game.

Mark DePriest had 7 points in the first quarter as Rock Hill outscored the Oaks 18-2 to begin the game.

K.C. Christian pumped in 10 points in the second quarter as Rock Hill extended its lead to 36-18 at the half.

The Redmen continued to pad their lead in the third quarter as they outscored the Oaks 12-8 to build a 48-26 cushion.

Matt Crabtree scored all of Oak Hill's points in the quarter.

Aaron Butler hit three 3-pointers in the fourth quarter for the Redmen as they continued to coast to their fifth win in 19 games.

Christian had 21 points plus 10 assists to lead the Redmen. DePriest finished with 14 points while Butler had 9 points and Matt Matney 8 points.

Crabtree had 9 points to pace the Oaks.
