PEDRO - With the heat on, Michelle Pancake didn't melt.

Pancake, a freshman, scored with two seconds left, was fouled and made the free throw to tie the game, and then Rock Hill went on to beat the River Valley Lady Raiders 62-58 in overtime Thursday in an Ohio Valley Conference game.

Down by 7 points with 1:40 play in regulation, Pancake's basket brought the Redwomen all the way back.

"We shot well from the line. Michelle hit some pressure shots," Redwomen coach Matt Fulks said. "She's a freshman and she hit the boards and she hit some big shots."

Kelsey Harris hit a 15-footer with 20 seconds left in overtime to break a 58-58 tie, and Mandi McKenzie sank two foul shots moments later to set the final score. Bobbi Harper had 5 points in overtime.

"We were in foul trouble all night. Kelsey Harris stepped up and played a real good defensive ballgame and shot the ball real well," Fulks said. "Bobbi (Harper) came through and hit some big shots. Brittany Ross didn't score, but she handled the ball real well and held us together."

Brooke Long had 5 points and Anna Bridges 4 in the first quarter as Rock Hill took a 13-8 lead.

Despite 4 points by Pancake in the second quarter, River Valley rallied to take a 26-25 halftime. Harper and Pancake scored 6 points each and Harris 5 in the fourth quarter as Rock Hill rallied for the tie.

"We battled in the fourth quarter. We didn't have a real good second quarter, and we came out flat in the third. We played even early in fourth, but we turned it in on and competed," Fulks said.

Pancake had 14 points and Harper 13 to lead the Redwomen (2-13, 1-8).

Ashley Caldwell had 21 points and Kristina Naylor 18 to lead River Valley (3-16, 1-9).
