WILLOW WOOD - After the Symmes Valley Lady Vikings showcased their three seniors on Senior Night, the seniors went out and put on a show.

Brittney Wilson hit 5 of 10 from behind the 3-point line as she scored 15 points. Leslie Floyd had a big all-around game with 8 points, 13 rebounds and seven assists, and Megan Coomes pulled down 12 rebounds as the Vikings whipped the Western Pike Lady Indians 59-34 Monday in a Southern Ohio Conference game.

"Brittney was hot from the 3-point line. She has improved on her outside shot as the season has progressed," Symmes Valley coach Lisa Bryant said.

"Leslie Floyd was unselfish as usual with the ball and hustled on both ends of the floor. Megan did a wonderful job on the boards."

The Lady Vikings' Tiffany Bryant had 12 points and five rebounds and Rebecca Capper added 8 points, six assists and four steals.

Kaylee Helton scored 19 points to lead Western.

"I felt we did a great job defensively on Helton. She has been scoring 30 to 40 points in the last four games," coach Bryant said.

Symmes Valley took a 15-7 lead after the first quarter and 29-17 at the break.

The Lady Vikings outscored Western 19-11 in the third quarter to extend the lead to 48-28.

"After the first quarter, we finally got in our offense and we were patient," coach Bryant said. "We controlled the boards well."

Symmes Valley had 44 rebounds.

The Lady Vikings will play at 2:45 p.m. Saturday at Athens High School in the Div. IV sectional finals against the winner of the Green-South Gallia game.
