AID - It's beginning to sound like a broken record, but the Symmes Valley Lady Vikings don't mind listening.
Another no-hitter by Lori Harmon along with clutch hitting and solid fielding led the Lady Vikings to a 10-0 win over the Portsmouth Clay Lady Panthers Monday in a Southern Ohio Conference game.
Harmon struck out 10 and did not walk a batter over five innings. It was her third no-hitter of the season.
"We had another good outing with our bats and pitching. We're fortunate to have done so many good things with such a young and inexperienced team. We're getting a lot of hits up and down the lineup,' Lady Vikings coach Jeff "Odie" Estep.
The Lady Vikings took a 2-0 lead in the first inning.
Erin Martin singled, Emily Bowling walked, Harmon grounded out as the runners moved up. Martin scored on a wild pitch and Bowling came home when Megan Coomes grounded out.
The lead went to 3-0 in the second inning when Kristen Crabtree singled, Martin walked and Bowling singled.
The Lady Vikings pushed across five runs in the fourth to lead 8-0.
Crabtree walked, Natasha Pointer singled and both moved up on a wild pitch. Kayla Justice hit a sacrifice fly and Martin tripled for the second run.
Bowling singled in a run, Harmon doubled and Rebecca Capper singled for a run.
The final two runs scored in the bottom of the fifth inning.
Crabtree was hit by a pitch, Pointer walked and then Bowling and Harmon singled to drive in runs and end the game.
Symmes Valley,9-2 and 6-0 in the SOC, plays at Ironton Tuesday.
