FRANKLIN FURNACE - Someone must have told the Green Bobcats it was a home run derby contest instead of a tournament game.

Ryan Bloomfield, Brian Ramey and Mark Castro all hit home runs as Green pounded the Southeastern Panthers 11-1 in five innings Thursday to win the Division IV sectional tournament.

"We were glad that our kids came out and played well today after two losses to finish the regular season. Hopefully, this game will give us some momentum and we can continue to play well throughout the tournament," Green coach Dave Shoupe said.

Bloomfield ran his record to 7-0 as he struck out eight, walked two and allowed only five hits. He also was 2-for-3 at the plate with two runs batted in.

Ramey also went 2-3 with a double and drove in four runs.

Green, 19-2 overall and 13-1 as Southern Ohio Conference champions, advances to the district tournament at 5 p.m. Monday at the University of Rio Grande.
