Greenup, Ky., man arrested last week on drug charges
A Greenup, Ky., man is behind bars today after being arrested last week on drug charges.
Aaron Black, 35,
is charged with possession of crack cocaine and probation violations. He was taken to the Lawrence County Jail.
Wednesday evening, Lawrence County Drug Task Force agents received a tip that Black, who is on probation for an earlier drug conviction, was going to an Ironton area bar, thus violating the terms of his probation. Allegations were also made that he was involved in drug trafficking.
Black was
arrested after a brief foot pursuit.
Black is no stranger to local authorities. In February 2003, he was rounded up in a local drug sweep. At that time, he was charged with three counts of trafficking in drugs. He pleaded guilty a few months later to those drug charges and was ordered to undergo drug treatment.
Black will appear in Lawrence County Common Pleas Court to answer these new charges.
