Memorial Day Parade rolls into Ironton next weekend

IRONTON - The 137th Ironton-Lawrence County Memorial Day Parade will be held on Monday, May 30, 2005, at 10 a.m., on the streets of downtown Ironton.

The Ironton-Lawrence County Memorial Day Parade is recognized as the oldest continuously held Memorial Day Parade in the Nation.

The first parade was held in 1868 to memorialize the Civil War dead, and has continued the tradition every year since, honoring all those who have served our country.
