Motorcycle, truck crash injures one

PERRY TOWNSHIP - At least one person was injured late Sunday evening in a motorcycle-pickup truck collision at the intersection of County Road 1 and U.S. 52.

The incident remains under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and the accident report was not completed this morning.

Troopers said Conrad Sparks, 74, of Kitts Hill, was apparently northbound on County Road 1 and was attempting to turn onto U.S. 52 when he failed to yield right-of-way to the motorcycle operator, who was eastbound on U.S. 52.

The motorcycle operator was Lifeflighted to Cabell-Huntington Hospital in Huntington, W.Va.

The name and condition of the motorcycle operator were not available as of press time.

The accident happened just before 9 p.m.
