Good news for one team is bad news for the other.

Injuries have plagued Jackson

this season, but a return to health is the right kind of news the Ironmen wanted to hear as they host the Ironton Fighting Tigers Friday.

However, it's a sour sound for Ironton coach Bob Lutz.

"They've had to battle to win without some of their players. With those players back in the lineup they'll be a lot tougher to beat," Lutz said.

Tailback Jesse Adams was injured early in last week's 14-6 win over Vinton County but is expected to return this week. Adams leads Jackson (2-1) with 255 yards on 37 carries.

Also back in the lineup will be tackle Beau Riley (6-3, 270) who missed the Vinton County game with a broken hand.

Defensive lineman Brandon Oliver (5-10, 205) is another key player expected back in the lineup this week.

"Adams is a pretty good back. He adds a lot to their offense. It hurt them when he went out last week," Lutz said.

The fullback is Dusty Erwin (6-0, 200) who had 196 yards on 45 carries including 111 on 21 attempts in the win over Vinton County.

The quarterback is Marcus Boggs (6-2, 180) who is a threat both throwing and running.

Boggs has rushed 36 times for 98 yards and has completed 17 of 45 passes for 241 yards and two interceptions.

"Their fullback runs hard and their quarterback is a good athlete with a nice arm. They have some good kids at the skilled positions and a lot of size up front to go with them," Lutz said.

Adams is also the team's leading receiver with seven receptions for 100 yards. Split end George Lowery had three caches for 77 yards.

The center is Dusty Nicholson (6-0, 220) with Wes Skaggs (5-10, 200) and Evan Osborne (6-0, 275) the guards. Riley, Bradley Duhl (6-0, 250) and John Lenard (6-3, 260) figure to fill the tackle spots.

Bronson Ostrande (6-4, 190) and Ben Jordon (5-8, 210) share the tight end duties.

The slotback is Anthony Fowler (5-7, 175).

While the offense has managed just 44 points this season, Jackson's stingy defense has allowed only 23 points.

The tackle are Nicholson and Skaggs with Lenard and Robbie Marhoover (6-2,190) the ends.

The inside linebackers are Jordon and Erwin with Fowler and Adam Rippeth (5-7, 160) the outside backers.

Wasch and Lowery are the cornerbacks with Adams and Bruce Smith (5-9, 175) sharing the safety duties.

"They're very aggressive on defense. They have a smaller lineup on defense up front and they really get to the football," Lutz said.

Ironton is 3-0 after beating Gallipolis 40-21 last week.
