Ashland, Ky. - They're calling it a Howl-O-Ween costume contest.
The Ashland-Boyd County Dog Park will have its second annual holiday costume contest for pets starting at 4 p.m. Saturday.
“Trophies will be handed out for the funniest, most creative and spookiest dog costumes,” dog park co-founder Tonya Meadows said.
Last year 30-40 pet owners brought their bow-wowing loved ones to the Halloween event. Meadows said she is hoping for an even larger attendance this year.
The $10 pet entry fee includes a goodie bag for each pet and a photograph of the costumed pet.
Proceeds will go to install water service at the rural park.
The dog park was created two years ago to give dog owners a place to exercise their pets. The dog park is located off U.S. 60 in Summit behind Boyd County Middle School near Fraley Field.
More information and directions to the park are available on the dog park's website, www.abcdogpark.com.
