Rock Hill tops All-OVC selections

The All-Ohio Valley Conference football team has everyone seeing red.
That's red as in the Rock Hill Redmen.
Rock Hill captured its first outright OVC title since 1968 and landed five first team selections and two honorable mentions in the process.
Not only did the Redmen get seven all-league picks but Todd Knipp was named Coach of the Year as he guided the Redmen to a 9-1 record overall and went 5-0 in the OVC.
Named to the first team was senior running back K.C. Christian who rushed 170 times for 1,306 yards and scored 17 touchdowns. T.J. Blagg had 595 yards on 113 carries to make the first team.
Also on the first team for the Redmen were linemen Drew McCaffery and Jeremy Mays as well as Josh “Deuce” Moore who had six interceptions and returned two punts for touchdowns.
On the honorable mention list were linebacker Dustin Harper and defensive end Josh 𔄝” Moore.
League runner-up Chesapeake had four first team picks and two honorable mention choices.
Quarterback Caleb McComas, 53 of 118 for 775 yards and 14 TDs, was on the first team along with receiver Jeffrey Thornburg who caught 22 passes for 425 yards and 10 scores.
Linebacker Cory Methax was a first team selection along with lineman Brad Eldred.
Honorable mention picks were linemen Andrew Ittig and Erik McWhorter.
Justin Hyland, who rushed for 2,064 yards and 31 touchdowns, led Coal Grove's first team selections. Also on the first team for the Hornets were linemen Nick Bazell and Jared Dever.
Coal Grove's two honorable mention picks were defensive back Chris Chaffin and lineman Adam Bare.
South Point landed two-way end Jeremiah Taylor on the first team along with linebacker and fullback Justin Thacker and quarterback Chris Smith.
Smith was 91 of 181 for 1,111 yards and 17 touchdowns. Taylor had 73 tackles on defense and Thacker 95.
Honorable mention selections for the Pointers were defensive back Jacob Orlando and running back Rocky Roe.
Sam Huff, who caught 61 passes for 1,033 yards and eight TDs, was named to the first team for Fairland as was running back Adam Fuller who had 778 yards rushing and 48 catches for 448 yards.
Honorable mention picks were quarterback Rich Staggs with 2,345 yards and 20 TDs and two-way lineman Wes Ripley.
River Valley's first team selections were Chris Edwards and Michael Cordell while Matt Elliot and Brian Morrow were honorable mention.
