FRANKLIN FURNACE - The Green Bobcats are like fresh lettuce. Very crisp.
Well, at least their passing and defense proved crisp Tuesday as Green routed the New Boston Tigers 76-42 in a Southern Ohio Conference game.
“We played much better,” Green coach Kevin Lewis said. “We had good defensive intensity the first half and we were able to maintain it throughout the game. We had good ball movement and crisp passing.”
The inside tandem of Brian Ramey and Ian Kelley combined for 34 points and 23 rebounds. Ramey had 19 points and 12 rebounds and Kelley scored 15 pints and grabbed 11 rebounds.
Nathan Patten scored 16 points including four 3-pointers while Derek Lewis handed out 10 assists.
Patten drained three shots from behind the arc in the first quarter as Green took a commanding 23-5 first quarter lead.
Ramey scored nine points in the second quarter as the Bobcats stretched their lead to 37-13 at the half.
Ramey and Patten combined for 10 points in the third quarter to offset 12 points by Tony Musick and the Green lead was 55-30.
In the fourth, Derek Lewis scored all eight of his points including a 3-pointer as Green continued to pull away.
