WILLOW WOOD — Somebody get some ice water.

“The way they hit and the way we shot, it made a long night,” Vikings coach Alvin Carpenter said.

Eastern came out and hit six straight 3-pointers and A.J. Osborne made four 3-pointers and scored 14 points to give the Eagles a 27-15 lead.

Symmes Valley was just 4 of 20 from the field in the first quarter with of those 17 shots in the paint.

“I think we could have been blindfolded and shot as well as we did. It was just one of those nights,” Carpenter said.

John Slone scored 10 points in the second quarter to match the Vikings Michael Humphreys as Eastern pulled away to 54-29 halftime lead.

Zach Alexander had 12 of his 19 points in the third quarter as the lead grew to 75-40.
