FRANKLIN FURANCE — Friday night was just an extension of the past three or four years for the Green Bobcats four seniors.

Green’s four seniors — Brian Ramey, Derek Lewis, John Dawson and John Bowen — were key factors in Friday’s 76-45 Southern Ohio Conference win over the Symmes Valley Vikings. Green coach Kevin Lewis said it has been the same throughout their careers.

“Overall, it was a good SOC win. It was good to see our four seniors go out with a win and have a positive influence on the game. They’ve done this over and over for us,” coach Lewis said.

Derek Lewis, a four-year starter, and Ramey, a three-year starter, both celebrated their final game with a double-double. Lewis had 12 points and 13 assists while Ramey had 24 points and 10 rebounds.

Dawson scored 13 points and Bowen six. Nathan Patten hit three 3-pointers and scored 12 points.

“It was good to see our two senior leaders (Lewis and Ramey) ending their careers with a home victory and both went out with double doubles,” coach Lewis said.

“Bowen and Dawson gave us some good efforts. It was nice to see those four seniors go out with a good finish in their last home game.”

Kyle Meadows scored 13 points and Michael Humphreys 10 to lead Symmes Valley (8-10, 6-7).

“They played real good defense and we just didn’t play well,” Vikings coach Alvin Carpenter said.

Bowen scored four points in the first quarter as Green went up 9-7.

The Bobcats got their offense in gear in the second quarter as Ramey scored 10 points and Green built a 34-18 lead.

Dawson had nine of his 13 points in the third quarter as the lead ballooned to 56-28. Humphreys hit a pair of 3-pointers in the quarter for the Vikings.

Green outscored the Vikings 20-17 in the fourth quarter as Patten had four points. Meadows scored nine points for the Vikings.
