RACELAND, Ky. — Not a good day.
The St. Joseph Flyers suffered one of those day a team has as they lost 9-0 Tuesday to the Raceland Rams.
Nathan Reynolds pitched a two-hitter and the Rams took advantage of four St Joseph errors to get the win.
“They had a pitcher who threw strikes. He didn’t throw hard, but he placed his pitches where he wanted. He was real efficient and had us popping up,” Flyers coach Greg Bryant said.
Ryan Schwab took the loss despite allowing only four earned runs.
“Schwab was the victim of a bad defense. He didn’t pitch that bad. They maximized their baserunners and we made a lot of fielding mistakes,” Bryant said.
Schwab and Caleb Blackburn had the only hits for the Flyers.
St. Joseph, 10-4, hosts Coal Grove Wednesday and Rose Hill, Ky., Thursday.
