Davis,Williams key Ohio over WMU

ATHENS — Whitney Davis came off the bench to score 16 points and Leon Williams added 15 points and 11 rebounds to lead Ohio to an 87-55 victory over Western Michigan on Wednesday night.

The Bobcats (7-2, 1-0 Mid-American Conference) held the Broncos (3-8, 0-1) scoreless for more than 8 minutes while running off 14 consecutive points to take an 18-5 lead. Davis hit two 3-pointers and Jerome Tillman added two baskets during the surge.

Ohio led by 23 points in the first half and by as many as 33 in the second.

Mychal Green added 12 points for Ohio, which unfurled its 2005 MAC tournament championship banner before the game.

Joe Reitz scored 15 points for Western, with Brian Snider adding 10.

The victory allowed the Bobcats to pull even in the series with Western Michigan, 57 wins apiece.
