A Pedro man accused of violating his probation and a Kentucky man accused of burgling an Ironton residence were among those making appearances Wednesday in Lawrence County Common Pleas Court.

Dennis Davis, 33, of 710 County Road 10A, Pedro, admitted to the court that he violated the terms of his probation by not completing an anger management course.

Davis was sentenced to 7 days in the Lawrence County Jail and was given credit for time served awaiting resolution of his case. Davis was serving four years probation after pleading guilty to a domestic violence charge in March 2005.

“Get anger management, run your hand through a wall but don’t take it out on someone else,” Judge Frank McCown told Davis.

A Catlettsburg, Ky., man was sentenced to six months in prison after he pleaded guilty on a bill of information to a single count of breaking and entering.

Jesse Kouns, 23, was one of three Kentuckians arrested in June by Ironton police investigating a burglary in the 1200 block of 10th Street. The cases against his alleged cohorts, Thomas Smith, 26, and Melanie Musick, 35, are still pending.

A Chesapeake man was sentenced Wednesday to four years community controlled sanctions after he pleaded guilty on a bill of information to two counts of theft.

Ryan Langley, 27, of County Road 15, must also successfully complete a rehabilitation program at STAR Criminal Justice Center. McCown further ordered Langley to make restitution to his victim.

A South Point man accused of stealing a car must undergo a mental evaluation before his case will proceed. David Jenkins, 31, of 143 Private Drive 268, was arraigned on a single count of grand theft.

Through his attorney, Philip Heald, Jenkins entered a plea of not guilty by reason of insanity. Walton set a $50,000 cash bond. Jenkins was accused of stealing a car June 22.

An Ironton man was arraigned Wednesday on drug charges.

Judge Walton set $5,000 cash or $10,000 property bond for Jason P. Belcher, 19, of 22022 State Route 243, Proctorville. Belcher was indicted earlier this month on one count each of possession of crack cocaine and possession of powder cocaine.
