HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — After the players check in, it will be time for coach Mark Snyder and his staff to check them out.

Marshall Thundering Herd football players checked into their temporary living quarters at 10 a.m. today. They’ll be fitted for equipment and listen to NCAA on-site officials regarding the rules of the association.

After the preliminary work is out of the way, players will get ready for their first practice at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at Joan C. Edwards Stadium and James F. Edwards Field.

Practice is closed to the public but open to the media.

“The coaches are anxious to get started,” Snyder said. “I’m sure the players are, too.

“I think we’re going to be better, I just don’t know how much better and how that translates into wins. We’ve got a tough schedule.”

Snyder was at the C-USA Media Day in Dallas Tuesday along with players Ahmad Bradshaw and Doug Legusky.

There will be no practices on Friday, but the annual media day will be held at the stadium. After interviews with the media at 4 p.m., a team photo will be taken at 6 p.m. followed by players and coaches signing autographs and posing for pictures with fans.

Practice will be held at 3:05 p.m. Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday. Again, practices will be closed to the public but open to the media.
