Rich Oil, McMeans robbers indicted

The man accused of holding up the McMeans Pharmacy in South Point has been indicted by a Lawrence County grand jury, along with two other people accused of helping him.

Gabriel Miller, 27, of Hurricane, W.Va., was indicted on five counts of kidnapping and one count each of aggravated robbery with a firearm specification, theft of drugs with a firearm specification, tampering with evidence and having a weapon under a disability.

A man accused of helping Miller, Michael Rogers, 47, of Lot 58, Winter Rose Trailer Park, 1173 County Road 1, South Point, was indicted on five counts of complicity to kidnapping and one count each of complicity to aggravated robbery with a firearm specification, complicity to theft of drugs with a firearm specification and tampering with evidence.

A third person allegedly involved in the incident, Brittany Ellis, 21, of Hurricane, was indicted on one count of obstruction of justice. Authorities contend she knew of the incident and who was involved in it but initially withheld information from investigators.

According to information from the office of Lawrence County Prosecutor J.B. Collier, Jr., the grand jury met Thursday and Friday of last week and Monday, returning indictments in 32 of the 38 cases presented to it. The grand jury handed down two secret drug-related indictments and five secret indictments for criminal non-support. Others indicted were:

&t;Deanna Preston, 39, 811 S. Fifth St., Ironton, two counts of theft by deception.

&t;Melvin Cade, 27, 814 Walnut St., Ironton, complicity to breaking and entering.

&t;David A. Blevins, 21, 2134 County Road 22, Ironton, one count each of improperly discharging a firearm into a habitation, using a weapon while intoxicated, endangering children and domestic violence.

&t;Kimberly Maggard, 44, 27 Private Drive 708, Chesapeake, one count of escape.

&t;Irving Craiger, 62, 5067 State Route 243, Ironton, one count of vandalism and three counts of assault on a peace officer. He is accused of vandalizing the artillery at Woodland Cemetery and then assaulting three officers who responded to the incident.

&t;Daniel Bravo, 24, Sciotoville, theft. He is accused of stealing a credit card from the Jeffersonville Missionary Baptist Church.

&t; Matthew Bloomfield, 12246 State Route 93, Pedro, three counts of misdemeanor assault. His case will be transferred back to Ironton Municipal Court for resolution.

&t; Thomas Lewis, 33, 95 Township Road 1129, Chesapeake, two counts of misdemeanor assault. His case will be transferred back to Lawrence County Municipal Court.

&t; Patrick Lewis, 35, Chesapeake, two counts of misdemeanor assault. His case will be transferred back to Lawrence County Municipal Court.

&t; David Lawson, 52, Eaton, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

&t; Teresa Hensley, 34, 1215 S. Fourth St., Ironton, theft.

&t; Joshua Porter, 18, Huntington, W.Va., burglary.

&t; Zachery Branham, 21, Ashland, Ky., burglary.

&t; Robert Duvall, 24, Ashland., Ky., burglary.

&t; Kristen McKee, 23, 2015, S. Fifth St., Ironton, aggravated arson. She is accused of setting a fire that damaged an Ironton apartment building Aug. 1.

&t; Brittany Little, 21. Ashland, Ky., burglary.

&t; Karen Parker, 47, 514 Scott Ave., Ironton, receiving stolen property.

&t; Raymond Meredith, 34, 102 Township Road 1336, South Point, breaking and entering, theft and tampering with evidence. He is accuse in connection with Aug. 7 robbery of the Rich Oil Station in South Point.

&t; Leslie Clark Jr., 43, 77 Private Drive 6681, Chesapeake, receiving stolen property.
