PEDRO — For once, there were no bad quarters.

Rock Hill put together four solid quarters as the Redwomen beat the Fairland Lady Dragons 48-43 Thursday in an Ohio Valley Conference game.

“Our second quarter has been a killer and we get 16 points,” Rock Hill coach Matt Fulks said. “Every kid we had got out there and battled. They could have folded real easy, but they never lost the lead.”

Bobbi Harper had 22 points to lead the Redwomen (1-3, 1-0). Brooke Long had 13 points — all in the first half — and Anna Bridges added 12 points.

Shea Berry scored 15 points and Megan Auxier 12 to pace Fairland (1-3, 0-1).

The game was tied 11-11 after the first quarter. Long then scored 10 points in the second quarter as Rock Hill built a 27-17 halftime lead.

Rock Hill led by as many as 12 points in the third quarter before Fairland came back to get within 35-31.

Fairland closed to within 2 points in the fourth quarter, but Harper had 9 points including 7 of 10 from the foul line. Rock Hill was 11 of 15 at the line in the quarter.

“Bobbi hit some big shots for us and we hit free throws and that was a big key for us,” Fulks said. “We shot the ball real well in the first half.”
