PROCTORVILLE — Molly Bumgardner didn’t want all of her team’s hard work to go for naught.

Trailing at the end of the third quarter, Bumgardner scored 6 points in the fourth quarter as the Fairland Lady Dragons rallied for a 51-49 Ohio Valley Conference win over the River Valley Lady Raiders Monday.

Fairland jumped ahead 16-6 in the first quarter as Megan Auxier hit a pair of 3-pointers and scored 8 points.

But the Lady Raiders came back to get within 24-19 at the half as five different players scored.

River Valley got its offense going in the third quarter with 23 points. Kristen Carter scored 6 points and Courtney Circle came off the bench to score 5 more as the Raiders took a 42-40 lead.

Auxier and Emily McMaster had 5 points each in the quarter for Fairland.

But Fairland put together its fourth quarter comeback behind Bumgardner to get the win.

Fairland (3-6, 1-4) was led by Auxier with 14 points and 5 rebounds Bumgardner had 10 points and 11 rebounds. Shea Berry handed out 5 assists.

Carter had 13 points and Smith 10 to lead River Valley (1-10, 0-5).
