GALLIPOLIS — Molly Bumgardner put the “I” in team.

Temporarily.

Bumgardner scored all of Fairland’s first quarter points and the Lady Dragons picked up from there in a 68-33 rout of the Ohio Valley Christian Lady Defenders Monday.

Bumgardner scored 14 points in the first quarter as Fairland took a 14-7 lead.

The Lady Dragons got balanced scoring in the second quarter as six different players scored and the lead went to 29-20 at the break.

Fairland took blew the game open in the third quarter by outscoring OVC 20-7 to lead 49-27. Bumgardner had 8 points in the surge and MacKenzie Rucker added 4.

Destinee Spears came off the bench to score 10 points in the fourth quarter and Emily McMaster had 5 points as Fairland blitzed the Defenders 19-6.

Bumgardner finished with a game-high 24 points. Spears was the only other Fairland player in double figures with 14.

The Lady Dragons (10-9) close out the regular season Thursday at River Valley in an Ohio Valley Conference game.

Richelle Blankenship led Ohio Valley Christian (2-14) with 10 points.
