AID — Who says 13 is unlucky?

The Lady Vikings got their big scoring explosion in the first inning with the help of four walks and five East errors.

“We hit the ball pretty well and they made some errors that helped us out, but we did a good job of capitalizing on their mistakes,” Lady Vikings coach Jeff “Odie” Estep said.

Julie Carter had a two-run double and Erica Corn drove in two runs with a triple to highlight the 13-run uprising.

Symmes Valley got a run in the second inning when Chelsea Wall reached on an error and Emily Bowling doubled.

In the fourth, Kathryn Myers and Wall had doubles for a run. Tiffany Copley was hit by a pitch and Kayla Justice singled in two runs. Nikki Nance hit into a fielder’s choice and a wild pitch scored Justice to cap the four-running inning.

Corn and Bowling each went 2-3 to lead the Lady Vikings as eight different players got base hits.

Symmes Valley (1-2, 1-1) hosts New Boston Wednesday in a league game.
