“We finally got a game where our shooting percentage improved,” Lady Vikings coach Lisa Bryant said. “Although we shot 37 percent, we are starting to find out rhythm on offense. All three of our veteran players stepped it up on both offense and defense.”

Emily Bowling scored 15 points, Tiffany Bryant had 14 points and 8 rebounds and Kayla Saunders got 10 points, 4 assists and 6 steals.

Haily Pelletier grabbed 11 rebounds for the Vikings.

“This is the first game in three outings that Tiffany has played without being in foul trouble,” coach Bryant said. “Kayla played stellar defense and out our offense up and running. Emily has been struggling with her shot, but she showed much improvement.”

The Lady Vikings took a 12-4 lead at the end of the first quarter and extended it to 21-10 at the break.

Symmes Valley put the game out of reach when he outscored the Lady Titans 19-5 as the lead ballooned to 40-15.

Symmes Valley is now 2-1 on the season and 1-1 in the conference.

“I am very proud of all of my girls tonight. They hustled all night long. Hopefully, as the season progresses, our younger players will be able to step up and help us out when called upon,” coach Bryant said.

On Saturday, Symmes Valley has a boys/girls doubleheader at 1 p.m. at Western Pike.
