NEW BOSTON — The Green Lady Bobcats ran out of gas, and it had nothing to do with the high prices at the pump.

Green’s young team struggled in the fourth quarter as they lost 62-45 to the New Boston Lady Tigers Monday in a Southern Ohio Conference game.

“We just ran out of gas at the end. We battled them. The game was closer than the score,” Green coach Dale Royse said.

“We had a really good effort. We played as well the first half as I’ve seen us play.”

New Boston took a 16-14 lead at the end of the first quarter before Green rallied to take a 29-23 lead at the break.

The Lady Tigers came back to regain the lead at 42-40 at the end of the third quarter.

Green did not make a field goal in the fourth quarter as they scored only 5 points and were outscored 20-5.

“Right now, we just need to develop some consistency. They’re a hard-working group and that’s all you can ask of them,” Royse said.

Elista Hall had 12 points to lead Green (3-3, 2-2 SOC). Shay Richendollar had 9 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists.

Kayla Wiley scored 22 points to lead New Boston.

“Wiley is a nice player. She’s awful quick,” Royse said.
