PROCTORVILLE — Three Columbus men are being sought in connection with a shooting in Proctorville Monday night that has left one man hospitalized.

An unidentified 28-year-old male victim, who is a native of Atlanta, was shot multiple times during an apparent robbery about 11:45 p.m. at a house on Township Road 519, commonly known as Whitley Ridge, just off State Route 775. He is in stable condition at St. Mary’s Medical Center, according to Lawrence County Sheriff’s Detective Aaron Bollinger.

Bollinger said the victim knew the three suspects, who were seen fleeing on foot after the shooting. There was a “personal conflict” that may have led to the incident, according to the detective.

The suspects came to the Proctorville area Monday evening and have probably fled back to Columbus, Bollinger said.
