Did you ever have one of those days, or at least one of those games?

The Ironton Fighting Tigers had that kind of a day Tuesday in a 10-0 loss to the Wheelersburg Pirates.

Wheelersburg (6-1) got 14 hits over six innings to get the win.

“Actually, we played pretty good defense

and (David) Bridges didn’t pitch that bad. He made good pitches, they just hit the ball,” Ironton coach Tobey Schreck said.

Chad Miller continued his hot-hitting as he went 2-3 for Ironton (1-4) including a double. T.J. Keith also doubled in three trips and Nick Lewis was 1-3.

“Chad hit the ball hard again. We just need to get him and T.J. in shape after coming out late from basketball,” Schreck said.

“We’ve been hitting the ball well. It was just one of those days. We have to bounce back. We’ve got three more league games this week.”

Adam Wamsley slammed a solo home run in the first inning for the Pirates. Jordan Russell was 4-4, Wes Lyon 3-4 and Dustin Cook and Kyle Blevings 2-3.

Russell went the distance to get the win.

Ironton hosts Jackson Wednesday, visits Portsmouth Thursday in a makeup game, and hosts Gallipolis Friday in Southeastern Ohio Athletic League games.
