Grand jury brings 16 indictments

Several people accused of drug peddling were among those indicted Friday by a Lawrence County grand jury. According to information from the office of Lawrence County Prosecutor J.B. Colier, Jr., the grand jury met Friday and returned 16 indictments, one of them secret, in 17 cases presented. Those indicted were:

4 James Cantrell, 54, of Franklin Furnace, two counts of complicity to trafficking in crack cocaine and one count of complicity to trafficking in crack cocaine.

4 Tyronn Jewitt, 29, of Dayton, who is Cantrell’s co-defendant, three counts of trafficking in crack cocaine and one count of possession of crack cocaine.

4 Bret Dement, 19, of 1007 Township Road 161, South Point, six counts of breaking and entering and one count of complicity to grand theft of a firearm.

4 John Hogan, 21, of 422 N. Second St., Ironton, one count of grand theft of the elderly, three counts of theft from the elderly and one count of misdemeanor criminal trespass.

4 Paul Lowe, 20, of 17 Private Drive 9179, Kitts Hill and Hogan’s co-defendant, one count of grand theft of the elderly, three counts of theft from the elderly and one count of misdemeanor criminal trespass.

4 Tony Puckett, 33, of 603 State Route 232, Oak Hill, one count each of operating a motor vehicle without control and misdemeanor endangering children.

4 Paul Wiley, 19, Huntington, W.Va., domestic violence.

4 Cory Baughman, 24, of Huntington, W.Va., one count each of aggravated trafficking in drugs and aggravated possession of drugs.

4 Maria Baughman, 24, also of Huntington and Cory Baughman’s co-defendant, one count each of complicity to aggravated trafficking in drugs and complicity to aggravated possession of drugs.

4 David Brammer, 54, 228 Daisy Drive, Proctorville, improperly discharging a firearm at or into a habitation. Brammer is accused of firing a gun into a neighbor’s

residence in March because he thought someone was trying to break into his own house.

4 Paul McMaster, 21, 2709 County Road 32, Chesapeake, one count each of burglary and carrying a concealed weapon.

4 Joshua Mosley, 25, 100 Township Road 1436, South Point, theft.

4 Nick Newman, 40, 4523 County Road 15, South Point, theft from the elderly.

4 Frederick Schob, 27, 19349 State Route 93, South Webster, theft from the elderly.

4 James F. Unrue III, 23, Russell, Ky., grand theft. He is accused of stealing a gun from C&S Guns in Ironton.
