CHESHIRE — So far this season, the Rock Hill Redwomen have been a big hit.

After getting 13 hits in a win on Thursday, the Rock Hill Redwomen banged out 14 more in a 13-1 rout of the River Valley Lady Raiders Friday in an Ohio Valley Conference game.

“We hit the ball real well. And we’re playing good team ball. I’m very proud of the way they’re playing,” coach Mary Harper said.

Candice Chaffins was 4-4 to lead the Rock Hill offense. Jazel DeAutremont was 2-3 while Katrina Settle and Bobbi Harper were 2-4.

Bobbi Harper got the win as she struck out 11, didn’t walked anyone and allowed just two hits.

The Redwomen took a 2-0 lead in the first inning. DeAutremont walked and Bobbi Harper hit into a fielder’s choice. Shelli Harper reached on an error and Chaffins singled home both runners.

Rock Hill erupted for five runs in the second inning.

Kristyn Phillips and DeAutremont singled and Bobbi Harper tripled them home. Shelli Harper walked and stole second and Bobbi Harper scored on the relay throw to second. Chaffins doubled home Shelli Harper.

After a wild pitch, Brooke Skinner followed with a run-scoring base hit to cap the rally.

Rock Hill got two more runs in the third inning. Kayla Kelley walked, Settle singled and both scored on a base hit by Bobbi Harper.

In the fourth, Chaffins singled, moved up on a wild pitch and came home on a hit by Kelley and it was 10-1.

The final three Ironton runs scored in the fifth inning.

Settle tripled and DeAutremont singled for the first run. Shelli Harper singled home a run, Chaffins doubled in a run, went to third base on a wild pitch and scored on a sacrifice fly by Skinner.

River Valley (1-4, 1-2) got its only run in the third inning when

Terra Porter singled, went to third on an error. She scored on a throw to first base to complete a strike out.

Rock Hill (6-0, 3-0) plays at Coal Grove Monday in a league game. River Valley is now 1-4, 1-2 in the league.
