Accent Health Care 35 set for Friday at RTR

COAL GROVE — Rocky Top Raceway’s next event is Friday with the Accent Health Care 35.

The 35-lap feature event will pay $3,000 to win for Late Models with $1,500 for second, $1,000 for third, and so on for $200 to start. Modifieds and Bombers will also be racing for regular purses.

This event comes on the heels of some other profiled RTR events.

The first special event, the “Twin 30’s’” held on May 18 saw Rod Conley take the $2,000 Late Model win in exciting fashion with Doug Adkins taking the big $1,000 win in the Modifieds.

The second annual “Summer Sizzler” on June 15 saw R.J. Conley take the $3,000 win in the 40-lap feature.

The biggest race ever held at RTR on July 13 saw Steve Francis take the $5,000 in the “Engines Inc./Carl Grover Motorsports 50” sanctioned by the Independent Racing Series with Danny Hamilton winning the $1,000 “Bomber Bash 25.”

General admission is $15 with pit admission $28. Gates will open at 4 p.m. with Hot Laps starting the night’s action at 7:30.
